In this celebratory shoot, Naima wanted to use traditional West African symbols that represented energies and protection for the baby as she moved into the final trimester. The symbols, which are called Adinkra symbols, were messages praising god, celebrating freedom, love and general well wishes for the child. The proud parents to be, got engaged in Ghana, so the symbols held a special meaning to them.
